The 2017 Volkswagen Golf R has just been announced to join the updated Golf 7.5 range. Along with more power and torque, the 2017 Golf R gets styling tweaks including new bumpers and LED lights.
The 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine will now arrive with more power, rated at 228kW and 400Nm of torque. This is a 7kW and 20Nm increase from the previous model, or a 22kW increase from the current Australian model. The new Golf Rย willย be a convincing threat to the Audi S3 with theย performance upgrade, but we will have to waitย untilย Q3 next year before it hits Aussie roads.
