Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the new X-Class ute/pickup truck! It has been a long awaited reveal, but we can confirm that it is finally here. Engine specs include a top of the line turbo-diesel V6 with 195kW of power and a blasting 650Nm of torque. Adding to the range is a 2.3-litre twin-turbo diesel with 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque. There is still uncertainty regarding the petrol engine, however it is likely to receive the same engine as a C200 or C300.
The X-Class is expected to hit showrooms in Australia, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa and Europe late next year. The war for the best pickup continues with luxury car makers entering the already saturated market. Who knows what may follow, BMW, Audi, Jaguar? All we know is that the demand for these vehicles is only increasing.
